Were all 53 Yahoo Acquisitions purely for talent hires?
It’s a very common trend in the tech world to buy companies not for the actual company, but for the talented engineers behind the company. After Yahoo bought 53 companies last year and has shut down a majority, you begin to wonder if that was the case here as well.
I’d imagine that even though Yahoo is a massive company with thousands of engineers you can imagine that a company of this size with millions + millions of lines of code may not be the number one place to apply for a job.
