Could the day finally be here? When Apple updates hardware that is no longer relevant?

The current version of the Apple Cinema Display hasn’t been updated in 6.7 YEARS, that’s 1720 Days.

It’s hardware that’s still rocking a 1920×1080 display, USB 2.0, Firewire 800, and Thunderbolt 1. Their iMac currently is thinner, less reflective and has way more updates than this device. And yet, Apple has yet to change the price since it’s release, it’s still $999 USD. How about that.  You can get a better display from Dell currently, for 1/5th of the price.

MacRumors reports that stock is currently low at apple stores, and WWDC is only in a couple weeks, so could this be the day? Could they finally update their display with modern technology? Or is this yet another project at Apple that they are choosing to ignore?
